Rodan+Fields convention is a VERY EXCITING time! We unveil our NEWEST product innovations (more on those here) and we CELEBRATE ALOT! The Convention center itself is HUGE, as most are so if you’re going there be sure to take GOOD walking shoes. Thank goodness there are SO many cute tennies that are in style these days even with business wear! Note the Marriott AND Hilton are BOTH connected with crosswalks on the second floors to the Convention Center for easy access…just know you’re going to walk MILES!
Of course this also means alot of… you guessed it, EATING! So here are my top recommendations of where to eat, stay, shop in Houston.
We stayed at the Hilton downtown adjacent to the convention center. It was lovely. Clean, hip, VERY cool fountains and chandeliers and they have a Mexican restaurant inside called Pappasito’s that is AMAZING! The salsa is made from green peppers and is served warm! Get lots of chips. The chicken quesadillas I had were SO good! And the best part is that it originally started as a "Mom and Pop" family business, which is of course my FAVORITE kind of business to be in and support! See photo below and click the link to read more and check out their menu!https://pappasitos.com/home/
We also ate brunch at Walker Street Kitchen inside the Marriott, one block away. Buffet style, bottomless mimosas if you’re into that kind of thing. I would say it was good food and convenient, which are both key when you’re there for the business sessions.
We did travel outside of downtown a bit to an Italian restaurant called Sorrento’s. It was FABULOUS. EVERYTHING was amazing. About twenty minutes from downtown and well worth the drive especially if you’re on the way to or from some shopping at The Galleria Mall! This mall has Tiffany’s, Saks, Chanel, etc. Very high end and wonderful. Highly recommend.
Never had Houston on my Bucket List of places to go but now that I’ve been am glad I did and am pleasantly surprised! Great city and of course, how can you not love Texas?
If you have a three day weekend convention in your near future, check out my blog on planning outfits and the one on how I got all that stuff into two carry-on bags!
